DaddyGuru has teamed up with Maravilha Retreat, a hilltop sanctuary with 180° ocean views above the beaches of Búzios, and Brazilian shaman and healer Mara Miranda to offer a unique, one-of-a-kind awakening retreat for Men Who Love Men.

IGNITE KRISHNA! is the Brazil edition of DaddyGuru’s transformational IGNITE retreat series. It’s taught through DaddyGuru’s own path, Neoteric Tantra, which combines White Tantra, Right-Hand Tantra and Neo Tantra, filtered through the lens of queer experience and healing. The week explores life-force energy, sensuality and erotic awareness as a path of presence, vitality and personal transformation. Through meditation, Kundalini practice, embodiment, conscious connection exercises and evening temple rituals, participants awaken sensual awareness and authentic masculine presence within a supportive brotherhood of men and a respectful container.

Throughout the week, Mara’s Brazilian shamanic rituals, sound and healing ground the work in the earth, the ocean and the healing traditions of Brazil.

Men are invited to deepen their connection to their bodies, release limiting beliefs and shame around sexuality, and cultivate authentic emotional presence. The retreat also celebrates the power of brotherhood among men: a space for connection, trust and shared growth.

Krishna, the fluid, playful divine lover, is our icon for this week. He represents love beyond convention, devotion, joy and the freedom to be fully yourself.

Evening temples offer deeper energetic exploration and transformation. They may include:

Multi-Hand Energy Exchange Ritual
Body Painting Ritual: a sensual, creative exploration of trust and expression
The Animal Within Ritual: a primal embodiment exploration of instinctual masculine energy, held with Mara
Tantric Energy & Bodywork Practice: conscious touch and energetic awareness

The week builds to its peak. On the eve of the ceremony, you’ll rewrite your inner story and offer the old one to the flames in the Phoenix Ritual, “Rising Into Your New Story,” a night fire ceremony with Mara under the moon. The next morning, the Higher Self Integration Ceremony, a sacred cacao ceremony with earth medicine held by Mara, carries that intention deeper. Afterwards, we share lunch in downtown Búzios, enjoy a free afternoon to integrate, and close the night with a sharing circle and ecstatic dance around the fire.

All temple experiences are guided with a strong emphasis on consent, awareness and personal boundaries. Participants are always encouraged to explore at their own pace.

The Setting
Maravilha Retreat sits on an acre of hilltop overlooking the Atlantic, a ten-minute walk from the beaches of Geribá, Ferradurinha and Amores. Late May is Búzios’s quiet, dry season, with warm days around 25°C / 77°F, calm water and very few crowds. At night, downtown Búzios, with its famous Rua das Pedras and Orla Bardot waterfront, comes alive with restaurants, bars and music.

The Goal of IGNITE Retreats

The goal of Tantra is to recognize your innate sexual and creative energy, to heal through practices that embrace both shadow and light, to stand in the power of your vulnerability, and to become the observer and manifestor of your own life journey.

Tantra is a process. The energy must first be realized within before it can be shared. Through the awareness practices of Neoteric Tantra (White, Right-Hand and Neo Tantra), IGNITE offers a conscious pathway to explore sensuality and erotic energy with presence and integrity, starting with your own relationship to that energy.

A Conscious and Respectful Environment

IGNITE retreats are held within a container of respect, consent and personal responsibility. All guided practices focus on awareness, embodiment and conscious exploration. Participants honor their own boundaries and the boundaries of others at all times.

Nudity & Detachment

Many IGNITE practices, including the morning yoga and inner workout, are done nude and are recommended nude. Nudity is a practice of detachment: letting go of shame, judgment and the stories we carry about our bodies, so we can meet ourselves and each other as we truly are.

However, nudity is always optional. If you’re not comfortable being nude, simply wear a sarong (also called a pareo, or a canga in Brazil). Please bring your own if you can. If you forget, we’ll happily supply one to borrow.

Maravilha Retreat is not a clothing-optional property, so nudity is part of our practice spaces and sessions only. Outside of the practices, please wear a sarong or regular clothing.
